TvT (Tort v. Terrorism)

At a conference at the Faculty of Law at the University of Siena, I presented new research on a question that strikes me as both important and underexplored: Can Tort Law serve as a deterrence tool in the fight against terrorism?

It is common to assume that the key legal fields for confronting terrorism are criminal law, international law, constitutional law, and counterterrorism legislation, while private law is left on the sidelines. My research aims to explore a different perspective, ask questions that have not been addressed systematically, and spark a new discussion in the field.

The international meeting was enriching and thought-provoking. It was a pleasure to exchange ideas with colleagues from Italy and beyond, and to feel how legal ideas can cross borders and legal systems.
